Research Project

Doncaster CVS is currently undertaking a research project funded by South Yorkshire Community Foundation to map the size and scope of the VCS in Doncaster. The project also aims to identify the key challenges currently facing voluntary and community organisations in Doncaster.

Phase 1 – Basic Organisation Details

A team of accredited researchers have recently undertaken Phase 1 of a research project to fully scope registered and unregistered third sector organisations operating in Doncaster.  The project commenced at the end of 2010 when Platform 51 (formerly YWCA), on behalf of Doncaster CVS, undertook over 800 telephone calls to individual organisations to complete questionnaires, updating contact details and information about their services.  The information gathered is currently being utilised to populate a database of third sector organisations.

Phase 2 – Key Challenges Facing the Third Sector in Doncaster

Thank you to all those who have already taken part in phase 1 of our research project.

During phase 1 of our research, organisations provided us with some basic information about their purpose, size and services/activities.  We are now undertaking phase 2, which looks at some of the key challenges facing VCS organisations in Doncaster.
