Your Doncaster Children's Trust Representatives
Elaine Hirst
Darts (Doncaster Community Arts)
t: 01302 341662
e: elaine@thepoint.org.uk
Elected until: March 2011
I am Co-Director of darts, Doncaster Community Arts with the responsibility for the delivery of our creative work. I have worked at darts for 15 years; prior to that I was Head of Drama in a comprehensive school. In fact the whole of my working life has included work with children and young people. I am passionate about the VCS claiming its rightful place in strategy and delivery and hope to build the strength, voice and credibility of the sector. I have previously “represented” the community and voluntary sector in relation to the ERDF Objective 2 programme and as a member of the Regional Arts Council.
The best way of starting a conversation with Elaine is… in Spanish – but slowly!
Paula Jackson-Key
YWCA
t: 01302 309800
e: paula.jackson-key@ywca.org.uk
Elected Until: March 2011
I work part-time as Partnership, Funding and Development Officer for Doncaster Women's Centre YWCA, responsible for income generation and partnership building locally. I also work part-time nationally for YWCA as Participation Development Manager responsible for embedding participation throughout YWCA from Board of Trustees to local Centres, ensuring young women's voices are heard in decision making locally and nationally, internally and externally. I have been a VCS representative for five years and am committed to ensuring the voice of the VCS is heard effectively in decision-making arenas, ensuring the unique nature of our contribution to strategy and delivery is taken into account and given value.
The best way to start a conversation with Paula is.... over a glass of wine, or anything to do with young people's participation.
