Diabetes UK Northern & Yorkshire Marketing Intern

Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition. Our mission is to improve the lives of people with diabetes and to work towards a future without diabetes.
The Northern and Yorkshire Marketing Intern will support the Northern and Yorkshire fundraising team to communicate key messages to selected audiences. You will have a key role to play in helping to develop an effective media strategy for the region and you will write news releases and news stories for the Diabetes UK website as needed. Your role will also involve liaising appropriately with a variety of external individuals and organisations as required, including journalists, volunteers, people with diabetes and suppliers and also liaising with other Diabetes UK staff to help facilitate the promotion of Diabetes UK messages at a local level.
An internship is a voluntary placement in one of Diabetes UK's departments based in our London office or at our national or regional offices around the UK. This placement is for 12 weeks.
Practicalities
- Location: Diabetes UK Northern and Yorkshire Office, Darlington with some travel to our central office in Camden, London
- Time commitment: 4 days a week, (9am to 5pm flexible in accordance with Diabetes UK flexi-time policy)

- Start date: 20 September 2010
