Ipsos MORI Ofsted Survey - Please Complete

As you may know, Comprehensive Area Assessment, the framework for inspecting councils and their partners, was introduced on 1 April 2009. Under these arrangements Ofsted maintains lead responsibility for assessing children’s services and carrying out inspections of safeguarding and looked after children services. As part of this, Ofsted is committed to carrying out annual surveys of voluntary and community sector organisations working with children and young people in each upper/single tier English local authority area. In tandem with this, another survey is being completed of social workers working with children and young people within local authorities.
We are contacting you as you have been identified as an organisation which provides services for, or represents the interests of, children within Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council. We would like to get the views of organisations of all types and sizes, and it is important that as many organisations as possible take part in this important survey.
We hope that you will take the time to complete this survey. It is carried out on Ofsted’s behalf by Ipsos MORI, an independent research agency. We would like your views about the quality of services in your area and the support you and your colleagues have in delivering them. The survey will also enable you to tell us how effective safeguarding arrangements are in your area.
The results will be used in the planning of inspections in the same way that other pre-inspection material is used: as part of preparation, as an aid to formulating hypotheses and to guide the scope of the inspection. They may inform decision making about the scheduling of inspections. Inspection judgements will not however be based on survey results, nor will we make comparisons between local authorities.
